Rising Sun
1. Ken Ishii (ケンイシイ Ken Ishii) is a successful techno DJ and producer from Tokyo. He has released work under his own name as well as under the pseudonyms: FLR, Flare, UTU, Yoga, and Rising Sun. Rising Sun is Ishii's more deep house alternative. Using highly synthesized bass lines and Pads, he creates a very unique sound.
Ken Ishii debuted on a legendary Belgian techno label, R & S Records, in 1993. In that year he straight won No.1 on the UK’s NME magazine’s techno chart, which led him to worldwide recognition. In 1995, the highly praised album “Jelly Tones” (R & S / Sony Japan) was released. In the following year, the video for the single “Extra” from this album (directed by Koji Morimoto, the person who participated in creating of a worldwide hit Japan animation “Akira”) won MTV’s “Dance Video of the Year”.
Since then, Ken has been regarded internationally as one of the Japanese pioneers who can create world class electronic sounds. In 1998, he produced the official theme song for the winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan and it was played in more than 70 countries around the world. Then in 2000, Ken was interviewed and was on the cover of Newsweek magazine, featured as a symbol of the Japanese new culture. This was acclaimed as a great undertaking by a dance/electronic music artist.
He also produces music for films, such as doing the theme song and soundtrack for the monster hit Japanese film “Whiteout” in 2000, which led him to be nominated in Japanese Academy Awards. He expands his boundary to games as well.

Rising Sun is an Estonian rock band formed in Tallinn by Mikk Tivas, Janno Klausner and Kristjan Aasamäe. So far all the band’s work is mixed and produced by the band itself. Rising Sun’s music is a mixture of album-oriented rock (AOR) and hard rock with multi-layered vocals and guitar riffs. Their main influences are Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and other mainstream melodic hard rock bands. The band writes all their material in English to have more worldwide appeal despite the fact that Estonian music business has strong native language support.
Band was formed not long after seeing Hysteria – The Def Leppard Story in 2007. Mikk and Janno started learning guitar together and Kristjan took up drums, which developed a strong partnership through the years. Soon they got Renek Sui as a singer, but when he left the band to move to England, Mikk was left with the responsibility of a lead singer. The band had different bass players playing for them over the years to help out with live shows but when Erik Öösalu joined the group, things finally started to go forward. Rising Sun spent 4 months recording, mixing and producing their debut song „Stay That Way“ and finally released it on 6th July for their promo. Rising Sun's next song "Letting Go" became available on Myspace in 16.09.2009!
23.12.2009 "Still Breathing" became available on MySpace.
In January 2010 Janno left the band, and new guitarist is Jaan Lillepruun.
In August 2010 the acoustic song "Tomorrow" was added to Myspace.
In summer 2010, Margus Neerut left the band and Kristjan Ojang took over the drumchair.
In January 2011, Rising Sun released another single "Kes See Saakski Sind Keelata?" It's the band's first Estonian language song.
